Dr. K. Vishnu Prasad completed his MBBS, MS(Orthopedics) from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam. He used to attend free Polio Medical camps under Dr. C Vyagreswarudu, Orthopaedic surgeon, Visakhapatnam and was awarded Dhanwanthari Medal and Dr. C. Vyagreswarudu Gold Medal during Post Graduation.
He later completed his MCh – Neuro Surgery Super Speciality and was a unique dual Master Degree holder in Orthopaedics and Neuro Surgery and worked in various capacities as Assistant Professor in Neuro Surgery, Professor & Head of Department of Neuro Surgery, Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, Professor of Neuro Surgery, Osmania Medical college, Hyderabad and Principal, Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam as well as Director of Medical Education, AP.
He had training in Micro Neuro Surgery in Fijutha Health University, Japan under the guidance of world-renowned Neuro surgeon Prof. Tetso Kanno. He visited Japan thrice for attending International conferences and for presenting papers.
He had my training for Neuro Endoscopy in Paris, France. He has attended several national and international conferences and workshops and was awarded Travel Fellowship by Congress of Neurological Society (CNS) in USA for presentation of innovative surgical procedures on the spine.
He is a recipient of several awards such as Builders of Bharath award by Lions Club International, Prominent Citizens of India Award, International Gold Star Award and Pride of India Gold Award from Society for National Integrity Modernity. He is a life member of Indian Orthopedics Association(IOA), Neurological Society of India(NSI), Asian Congress of Neurological Surgery (ACNS) and World Endoscopic Spine Society(WESS).
